Cliff Lampe is a Professor in the School of Information at the University of Michigan. His work focuses on how the design of computer-mediated interaction tools intersect with human social processes, particularly in order to foster positive outcomes of those interactions. In that work, Dr. Lampe has studied how social network sites are associated with social capital, the social barriers to civic technology adoption, and how to reduce conflict in online conversations. He is an ACM Distinguished Member, Director of the Citizen Interaction Design Program, and Director of the Undergraduate program at the School of Information.
